| I really doubt you need to run new wire. Do these tests before you waste your time. First, unplug your detonation sensor harness from your ECU harness. To check your signal wire: Attach one lead of your multimeter to the detonation wire at the ECU, inside the car. Attach the other lead to one of the pins in the ECU harness detonation sensor plug. Check for continuity. If you don't have continuity in that pin, try the other pin in the harness plug. Whichever pin has continuity is your signal pin. If neither pin has continuity, you have bad wiring/a short. To check your ground wire: Assuming you found your signal pin, connect a multimeter lead to the other pin in your detonation sensor plug on the ECU harness in the engine bay. This should be your ground pin. Connect the other multimeter lead to a ground point (a metal part of your plenum is fine). Check for continuity. If you don't have it, your ground wire is bad. If both wires have proper continuity readings, your ECU harness wiring is probably fine. Try swapping the two wires in the plug. If that doesn't fix the problem, I'd suspect your new sensor, your new sensor mounting/grounding, or your subharness.
